Easy Low Carb Avocado Smoothie

We all like to start off the day in a super healthy way. In fact, this is when most of us are still really motivated to make great keto choices. One of the best ways to start your day on the right foot is by eating a healthy, balanced, low carb meal. Now, that doesn’t mean you need to spend hours in the kitchen, prepping and cooking some complex dish. In fact, you can simply throw a bunch of ingredients into a blender and press “puree”. Poof! A perfect keto breakfast!

Smoothies are a fantastic way to get the nutrients you need in the morning. When you are following a keto diet, you definitely need to make sure you get enough fats right when you wake up. When in ketosis, fat is the body's fuel and after sleeping all night long, burning the fats that are already in your body, you are going to need a good boost of fat to wake you up!

Low Carb Avocado Smoothie

This smoothie recipe has the healthy fats that any keto dieter needs and they are blended together in a delicious way. Avocado is the first source of healthy fats that we have added into this delicious drink. Avocado is very high in fats and is a food that so many love already. Since avocado has a very mild taste, it goes well in a lot of dishes. It adds a creaminess to our smoothie recipe thanks to those healthy fats. It also gives the smoothie some bulk and helps to fill you up. One glass of this smoothie and you will be full until lunchtime!

Canned coconut milk is the other main source of fat in our recipe. When you open a can of coconut milk, you will find that the majority of the can is a thick, creamy fat that you can actually see! And, omg does it taste good. Try to resist eating the coconut milk right out of the can and scoop it into the blender for your avocado smoothie. The canned coconut milk will give your smoothie a subtle sweet taste but still keep it low carb.

Keto Avocado Smoothie

When you think of smoothies, you may automatically think of the sweeter, almost dessert-like smoothies. Our keto avocado smoothie is not that. In fact, it is just sweetened a little bit thanks to the golden erythritol and the coconut milk. Other than that, we have put ginger, turmeric, and lemon juice into the mix to make a more savory drink. After all, some mornings you may want something sweet and other mornings you may be craving something a little more savory- that is always the breakfast dilemma!

We know that our keto avocado smoothie is going to make your mornings a little bit brighter. That incredible green color will brighten your day and the healthy turmeric, ginger, avocado, and coconut will give you a super boost of energy and nutrients. If you have any extra leftover in your blender, pour it into popsicle molds and enjoy a keto avocado pop for dessert later on! However, you probably won’t have any extra smoothie, it is too good to not drink right away! Enjoy!
